Box draws have been conducted for the feature National finals of greyhound racing to be staged in Hobart.

            The $75,000 to the winner Tattsbet National Sprint Championship and the Wrest Point Casino National Distance Championship, for the same money, will both be run at group one level at Hobart at a twilight meeting next Saturday, August 25.

            Queensland is the reigning champion state of the Nationals, with wins by the Ron Ball trained Metz Magic and Dwyer Lennon’s Dashing Corsair (pictured) when the finals were run at Albion Park last year.

            At $1.30, Western Australian superstar Miata looms as potentially the shortest priced winner of a Championship since their inception in the late 1960s.
